Remember these are generational problems will require generational solutions. They will require patience and grace on all sides. They will require the willingness to ask uncomfortable questions and also a willingness to look beyond the current manifestation of these generational problems and find the root cause.
Looking at Racism – part 2
Part 1 can be found here: https://unhiddenlight.blog/2020/06/25/looking-at-racism-part-1/ We all come at the subject of racism from different angles, some have been victims of racism and have been directly affected by the consequences of its evil. Some have been distributors of racist abuse, overtly racially prejudice people who are so comfortable in their own hate that... Continue Reading →
Looking at Racism – part 1
Racism is a doctrine so utterly devoid of merit that it is offensive in its very suggestion before we even get to the odious nature of its effects. It is the bastard child of arrogance and ignorance and it has been wielded as a weapon of division by power hungry rapacious sociopaths for far too long.
Jumble
How are you supposed to compose this jumble of thoughts into a cohesive expression? How am I supposed to compose myself long enough to process? Lord help me I need to understand. How can we ever change if we are so unwilling to change? What the heck is this new editor? I guess it’s been... Continue Reading →
How can it be this way?
I am angry, so very angry I am scared and confused My heart breaks as my mind rages How can it be this way? We are all equal That’s what they say It is what I believe Yet it is clearly not what they mean When rights are abused Protected on paper Yet ignored... Continue Reading →
The Climb
know that this place, like all places, is not a destination, it is merely a beginning.
Random Thoughts
A combination of time and thoughtfulness is slightly delaying the progress of season 2. I feel I need to be much more deliberate with what I write these days. Even though we don’t mean them to be, what we choose to share in such a forum is to an extent indelible to the reader. As... Continue Reading →
Lessons
There are some things that only experience can teach us Lessons only time can offer However the challenge, when taking advise from someone more experienced Is trying to discern if they have learned the things they were being taught Or if they simply allowed the lessons to pass them by
Afraid For The Future
I’m no politician, no expert, I find the whole thing so utterly distasteful & corrupt that I try to stay away. I live my life the best I can (most of the time), enjoy myself & try to make a small positive impact in the world. Yet at times it is hard to ignore it... Continue Reading →
Let’s make America great again! ……… Oh really?
One of the catch phrases that is doing the rounds this silly season, err I mean Presidential campaigning season, is “make America great again”. Which to me quite obviously implies that some people believe that America in it’s current state is not great, however at some point in the past it must have been great,... Continue Reading →
What is going on?
What is going on? It’s a question I should ask more of myself than I do. As it stands, it comes up only occasionally, fleetingly. Things have changed over the last year, not for the better. What things? The intangibles inside, the things that were “fixed” before, or so I thought. 2015 was an odd... Continue Reading →
Remind Me
. If everyone is right Who is wrong? If everything is true What is false? If everyone talks Who listens? If nothing makes sense Remind me what the point was …….
The Start – Again
Oh hey look, writing, yeah about that … I’m not going to sit here & talk about how I am going to get back on the blogging train, I might, but I can’t make promises right now. Somehow, someway I’ve found myself in a strange place. When I started the blog it was in a... Continue Reading →
Rosé Sky
Morning delight, a shared masterpiece Between the Father & his children Given to a father and his daughter What could it be? Is Monet at work in the sky today? Maybe a wild party in heaven left Rosé spilled on the sky Possibly it is a caring gift, a pick you up for... Continue Reading →
Tomorrow

Rediscovered Joy – Video Gaming & Destiny
Of all my interests / hobbies, video games probably consume the most of my free time, yet oddly enough, it’s not a subject I write about very often. Mostly that is because there is a dearth of gaming writers out there, but also because until recently I’d been slowly losing the desire to game. It had... Continue Reading →
Write Again
What happened to writing? I asked myself this question the other day, sadly the answer is I’m not sure. Somehow over the last few months or longer it has taken more and more of a back seat to other things. That in itself is not really a problem I guess, I mean yes I do... Continue Reading →
2 Years!!!
The craziest thing happened yesterday I got a notification on the WordPress app that my blog has now been up for 2 years. 2 years! From a guy that thought he had nothing to say. It has been quite the ride, a lot has happened in the last 2 years, I have changed a lot... Continue Reading →
The Skeptic
Thousands gather to honor the Lord Healing is suggested Then healing is claimed Can it be real? Could it be true? Why do you feel nothing? Is this all a sham A trick to try and make you believe? Really? How arrogant are you, that you could think that this is all about you? ... Continue Reading →
How I made twitter a better place (for me)
Twitter is an odd thing, for a long time I wanted nothing to do with it. Then as I realized that you could be on the front end of breaking sports news I got sucked into it. Over time I eventually actually started tweeting as well as consuming. But to be honest, I was done... Continue Reading →
Wrangling Time & Making Music
One of the challenges we bloggers face is time, if you stick at it for any length of time, there will come a period when having enough time to write your blog become sparse. That goes for any form of creative expression, unless you are fortunate enough to do it professionally. I have been through... Continue Reading →
What do you like about blogging?
One of the blogs I most enjoy reading is The Culture Monk (http://culturemonk.com/), I thoroughly enjoy his social observations and balanced worldview. The “drinking in the culture tour” has taken things to a new level and on top of that there is his new adventure of a podcast, the man clearly has too much time... Continue Reading →
Broken male culture – part 1
I don’t recall now exactly what the trigger was, but at some point back in December I wrote 3 poems on what I call broken male culture. Rather than just throw them on my blog I had been intending to write a couple of pieces to book end the poems. Well, intending has taken a... Continue Reading →

Favorite time of year
I love this time of year, it has always been special for me, but after 11+ years in Texas it is becoming even more so. Coming into fall (even though we still have triple digit temperatures) makes me happy because it means our summer is going to eventually end and there is the (somewhat distant)... Continue Reading →
