White Privilege? Ok, let’s talk

Remember these are generational problems will require generational solutions. They will require patience and grace on all sides. They will require the willingness to ask uncomfortable questions and also a willingness to look beyond the current manifestation of these generational problems and find the root cause.

Looking at Racism – part 1

Racism is a doctrine so utterly devoid of merit that it is offensive in its very suggestion before we even get to the odious nature of its effects. It is the bastard child of arrogance and ignorance and it has been wielded as a weapon of division by power hungry rapacious sociopaths for far too long.

Jumble

How are you supposed to compose this jumble of thoughts into a cohesive expression? How am I supposed to compose myself long enough to process? Lord help me I need to understand. How can we ever change if we are so unwilling to change? What the heck is this new editor? I guess it’s been... Continue Reading →

It is a difficult grief to explain To have dreamed a dream So real and so true Only to be separated from it By failure Disappointing, unexplainable failure The heart aches The soul is heavy To dream and fail comes with a cost Yet so does not dreaming at all Is life without beauty and... Limit the Limitless

So often we seek to limit the limitless  Contain it in rules, in words, in a book We assigned a gender to the divine  God the father, God the man  God the person?  God the human … hmmm   But is that what God really is?    Eternal, infinite God The holy, the divine We... Continue Reading →

Insignificant

The Universe, so infinitely vast With seemingly limitless possibilities Encapsulated by the impossibility Of really understanding it at all   Particles, atoms, molecules Matter, it all matters The tiniest of details matters Cosmic energy maintaining the great dance of existence   And we, the humans, on our little planet, our corner of it all A... The Light is a Window

Through the darkness A light invades Uncomfortable, unwelcome   A shining light Interrupting Our comfortable slumber   The light it appears Is a window Small & difficult to see through   Yet, even from a distance You can see something different Something beautiful through the window   The closer you get, the More you can... The Age of Bones

There are times that I feel old Tired, stiff, ready to stop Though I’m not quite as old  As my bones would have you believe   Sure I could be carbon dated An accurate figure assigned As my joints complain Creaking and cracking   My playful, mischievous mind Tells you a better truth Regardless of... Life is like a river

Life is like a river The current always flows The further down stream you get The faster it seems to flow Yet at times On a gentle bend It appears to slow Almost stand still Then when you look back The past seems so distant Children grow, too quickly Bodies age & get creaky Life... Is the music dead?

Is the music dead or simply quiet? Has inspiration left or is it just still?   Internal conflict Or lack of interest? Undigested pain Or focus lost?   The creative soul Enters dryness But not darkness A new frontier     The wasteland wanderer Lost in the empty Is seeking a jungle of inspiration  ... What if, we the people decided to be the change? What if, we the people declared we would be the hope? What if, we the people decided that we are better together, regardless of race, nationality, ancestral origin, political, philosophical and theological differences? What if, we the people decided respect and cooperation were better than... Continue Reading →

The Launch Codes

Perennial Soul

After the death of winter Always comes the spring Green shoots rising up Through the frost covered dirt   After the rotting & seemingly terminal decay After apparent death Comes new life, new hope To my perennial soul

Why can we not just have peace?

In this war ravaged planet Most people just want to be peaceful To get on with their lives, go to work, pay their bills Maybe watch a game, drink a beer with a friend, hug their family   They didn't ask for this, we don't want this The world is torn, society is stretched to... Continue Reading →
