The Climb

It is a strange thing to be in a place where many of the things that helped you in the past, no longer seem to make sense in the present. What was once absolute truth, morphs overtime to become an overly simplistic explanation for the unexplainable.

It is easy to judge your past self, to ridicule yourself for where you were. Yet where you were was a big step from before then. So you must remind yourself not to be harsh on the past you, your past thoughts and beliefs, but be grateful for how they helped in that season.

You would not be who you are today, where you are today, if it were not for who you were and what you believed in the past. Hopefully today is good day for you, if not, then aim to use today to make a better tomorrow for both yourself & those you come into contact with.

Sometimes I feel that I should not speak to others of the things that were once so helpful to me as I do not want to mislead then into an incomplete understanding that does not represent where I am today.

So I am trying to remember that where I was, was incredibly helpful and healthy. It is not my place to deny another that place on the climb, that cosy landing spot that brings so much healing. I should help them find it, yet I should also help them to know that this place, like all places, is not a destination, it is merely a beginning.
