In the vast sea of forever
We all crave an island of hope
Something to cling to
A lighthouse to guide us on the journey
To help us navigate dangerous seas
I put my faith In the unseen
As all that I have seen
Has proved unworthy of faith
I put my faith in the unseen
As the unseen has claimed me
You may not see my lighthouse
Yet it guides me as clear as day
Absolutely beautiful, Chris.
Thank you
I like this Chris–very lovely words and it speaks of home to me. I grew up in New England–not far from the ocean and there are several lighthouses out there. I can relate to the whole poem but especially the lines “You may not see my lighthouse Yet it guides me as clear as day”. I have a Bible verse in my kitchen with a little sketch of a lighthouse–Matthew 5:16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
I love that verse, it’s one that I strive to remember, life works better when I do 🙂
I’ve not made it to New England yet, its on the list though for sure, the photos I’ve seen are beautiful.
Well I hope you do get to New England. It is very beautiful especially in the fall with the foliage but in the summer too at the ocean or in the mountains.
