Broken Home Children

Broken Home Children

Dad left when she was one
No reason to ever trust again
Always worried, always stressed
Wondering what is to come

Mom left Dad for another woman
He’s just turned 13
Drugs, crime & alcohol
Looking for answers to questions he doesn’t know

Parents died in a car wreck
Uncle abused his trust
Now he lives in a penitentiary
Having made justice his own

We are the broken home children
Broken pieces of a world gone wrong
The echoes of personal disasters
The after though & after effect of absolute selfishness

We are the broken home children
Bitter balls of hate with a soul gone cold
Abused and abandoned
Betrayed & cast off

We are the broken home children
Its no excuse, its simply the reason
Hell raising rebels with hearts of gold

The survivors and the redeemed
The recovered & the healed
Their lights shine brightest in the lonely cold
Offering hope to their fellow children of the broken home
